I love this so much
The Origin of Love. Beautifully illustrated.
Aw this is so cute
I forget who it was that first posed this idea, but I remember hearing about it in my “Gender and Sexuality in the Greco-Roman Era” class. One of the great Greek philosophers came up with it, and it totally explained homosexuality, because sometimes the person you were originally attached to was the same sex. I enjoy this story. :)
This is seen in Plato’s “Symposium.” It can be found during the speech given by Plato’s characterization of Aristophanes which you can read here.
